Summary:

Exhilaration, yet curiosity runs laps around my mind as I am undergoing one of the most highly anticipated events of my life…

Coming of age.

And I know exactly what you're thinking. “There are many periods in a child’s life that can be considered leveling up or taking a step forward”, which I understand and completely agree with. However, the change I’m about to experience draws the difference between childhood and adulthood. Yes, ladies and gentlemen, my time has come.

It’s my turn to become 18.

I'd like you to join me on this self-reflective journey through my childhood. This book was written 1 month before and after my 18th birthday, putting every feeling and emotion I have about early adulthood on display.

This book delves deeply into the themes of courage, faith, optimism, and reflective thinking, making it the perfect book for anyone curious about the teen coming-of-age experience (or at least how turning 18 felt for me). The book has a chapter written for every day of my entire experience, giving you real-time insight into every thought and the emotion I felt in the heat of my drastic change.

My purpose for writing this book was to document my journey to becoming an 18-year-old, making this book something that people of any age group can look back on to be inspired by for generations to come. Being on the beam and actually diving into the sea of being 18 are two distinct experiences, two experiences I aim to portray with truth, transparency, and authenticity in every sentence of this writing. So with everything being said, I invite you to experience how turning 18 felt for me.

I am walking away from the watercraft of my childhood and am inching closer and closer to the edge of the beam over the vast sea of my adulthood.

Come take the leap with me.
